"Byproducts have no place in pet food."

I believe in caring for my pets the way I care for any other member of my family. For me, Pet Promise is the first commercial pet food that helps me keep my promise to my family pets, Jambo and Daisy.

Meeting Your Pet’s Nutritional Needs

What is a healthy diet for a dog or cat? After much research, I stand by my beliefs:

  • Less processing is good. I believe less processing is more beneficial, but no processing may be unsafe. Uncooked meat and poultry can carry harmful bacteria and raw bones can fracture teeth and cause intestinal blockage or perforations.
  • Double-processing compromises nutritional value. I believe that the rendered proteins (such as chicken meal) used in most conventional pet foods could compromise the quality of the protein source, and thus the pet food itself.
  • Raw diets under-deliver nutrients. I believe that raw diets for pets under-deliver many nutrients and minerals, including manganese, zinc, and iron, and over-deliver other nutrients, such as calcium and Vitamin D. This can compromise a pet’s health.

Why I believe in Pet Promise

It uses only pure protein sources from chicken, beef, bison, or fish. No animal byproducts, added growth hormones or antibiotics.

Pure protein sources: always the first ingredient on every Pet Promise label.

Minimal Processing: because Pet Promise doesn’t use rendered or recycled meats, poultry or fats, it’s only cooked once. This means more nutrients and flavor stay intact, and the meat protein is properly cooked before it’s consumed by your pet.

Quality meat sources: humanely raised and pasture-fed beef and free-range chicken subsist on a vegetarian diet, and come from quality producers, such as Coleman Natural Beef and Petaluma Poultry.

Natural Farmer Support: Pet Promise supports eco-friendly ranching, buying only from natural farm producers in rural communities committed to sustainable ranching and farming methods.
